p.1 #1 · Sentinel in the mist

A rock formation that caught my eye tonight.

Canon 1DSII, 85 f/1.2L lens, ISO 100, Av f/14, Tv 10 seconds. Levels, USM 300, .9, 0 and slight s-curve contrast adjustment. Slight saturation bump on the blue to bring it back to what my eye originally saw.

Nice capture and a nice shade of blue in the water.I think though with the lens/body combo you are using you can push the pp a bit more. With the rock you want to feel the roughness of it.i get very good results sharpening in DPP and do not be afraid to push it a bit .This being so it may just be a matter of preference.Happy shooting.

Nice - it may be the color you saw but it looks very blue.

A lower perspective might improve but it is quite nice.

The way the rocks are situationed they seem to compete. I think you need to compose so that one side kind of points to the other like I splice them together badly here. I am just doing this to illustrate I realize that its is bad splice.

It is good but could be better - keep on trying.

That one is easy to get to. This picture was just snapped as an experiment. I like how it turned out so next time I'm in that spot I'll shoot it again and take my time setting up the shot. As it is I cloned out a dark spot and a rock on the left. Better framing will get more seperation between the rock and the ocean too. I might not get quite the same contrast though as the water was a weird blue that day and each day is different.
