p.1 #1 · 200 1.8 Longshot question

Since I have owned my 200 I have wondered why the collar seems to stop in the wrong spots. Seems like 22 1/2 degrees off from each spot it's supposed to click into. I was looking at a online action lens and noticed one thing that is different then my lens. I noted it with the red line on the pict. That seems to correlate with the problem my lens has with the rotating collar. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's not a big deal I just thought if it was a easy fix I would do it.

Thanks, Ron

It isn't a long shot at all. This is a common problem. What you want to do is have the knob somewhat tightened, but not too much. You do this on one of the stops. At this point, you move with mild force to the position that you want it in...then its fixed!

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the button above the manual focus speed button?

Wow! Mine has the same problem and in fact seems to have gotten worse over the last couple years. I'm going to try this!
