My 5D has recently had focusing issues. I will have my 24-70L on and while Im taking photos, the camera won't focus. The display on top will blink "00" for aperature. I'm not sure what this all means. Any advise would be super helpful. Thanks.
Sounds like a connection problem between the lens and camera. I'd clean the lens contacts. If you have another camera or lens I'd try them to see if the error occurs with any other configuration.

Yes, I've experienced non-focus issues too, but only immediately after changing lenses. As you say, in my cases it has been a contact problem. To rectify, I take the lens off, run the back of my nail against the contacts in the body to bounce them, put the lens back on and I'm good to go.
Hmm. I actually had a similar problem, for a while. I couldn't work it out, and then one day while shooting many many photo's in quick succession, the mirror litterally came away from the shutter. (as in the mirror on the shutter, litterally detached from the shutter itself). Fortunately it didn't break the lens, but the camera had to be repaired.
