Just wondering when Canon typically makes their Pre-PMA product announcements? I recall that there is a pattern to their prior-year announcements. Like a certain # of days or a certain day of the week prior or something like that.
2006: All announcements (including 30D) on Feb 21; show started Feb 26
2005: Most announcements (including 350D) on Feb 17; show started Feb 20
2004: Most announcements on Feb 9 (1DmkII on Jan 29); show started Feb 12
2003: All announcements (including 10D) on Feb 27; show started Mar 2
2002: All announcements (including D60) on Feb 22; show started Feb 24
2006: All announcements (including 30D) on Feb 21; show started Feb 26
2005: Most announcements (including 350D) on Feb 17; show started Feb 20
2004: Most announcements on Feb 9 (1DmkII on Jan 29); show started Feb 12
2003: All announcements (including 10D) on Feb 27; show started Mar 2
2002: All announcements (including D60) on Feb 22; show started Feb 24
So generally, 3 to 5 days in advance.
PMA this year starts March 8.
And me leaving on a photo vacation on the Feb 23...If they announce something great, it could ruin my vacation

Do you guys actually attend PMA? I have the opportunity to go and I'm wondering if its worth my weekend a few bucks for a hotel?
I was pretty excited about going this year and then my girlfriend talked me into spending a month in Nicaragua instead. I will survive until next year....uinless Canon makes some earth-shattering announcement. In that case I will be crushed.

Be real shame to have your old cameras just up and stop working because of some new product annoucement. I don't know how one can prepare for trips or major assignments these days with such a threat hanging over our heads.
