You have to use the [ img ] [ /img ] or [ frame ] [ /frame ] tags (without the spaces between the words and brackets) around your image URL to have the image appear in your post. Just posting the URL pointing to the image is not enough. You can also use the buttons next to the text editor if you don't feel like typing the tags.

NOPE, you don't need IMG tags...just pasting a URL to the image will work. The image will display in the thread, rather than a link which needs to be clicked.

FRAME tags are optional.

Hm, I wasn't aware of that feature, I guess you're right. However, the point is you can't just link to a page containing your image, the image has to actually appear right in the post. How you do that (typing URL, one of the two tags, or image upload) is up to you.

Actually, don't bother with the FRAME tag.

Your submission MUST be free of frames, signatures or borders

If you don't have image upload, Forrest's method is the way to go.

Actually, that's not what they mean by that rule...they're talking about artistic frames/borders which are part of the image. The FRAME tag is around ALL images uploaded via Image Upload feature. Applying it to your own hosted images just makes them look the same as FM hosted images.

No frame:
