Sony announced its DSC F828 camera. The model obviously aims to the prosumer market with specs like a 8 megapixel CCD with the latest 4 colour filter array and a Carl Zeiss zoom with a comparable range of 2.0-28 / 28-200 mm in 35 mm format. Fast and a large 7x range. The sensor is the biggest in Sony's consumer grade camera's: 2/3 inch and so promises good sensitivity to light and relatively low noise levels. Predictions on pricing promise a very competitive 1300 EUR/1200$! Remarkable news too: Sony now offers a CF slot next to its proprietary MS format.
