Ok, I make a huge effort to be at my Uncles Yearling Sale in Seattle and what happens not just one but both of my D2H's have meter failures. I was kinda thinking it was going to hit me sooner than later with both having over 10,000 clicks on them. The followig pic is my Uncle with his Chestnut Filly.Luckily I had my hand held meter and still nailed a lot of nice shots. Im hoping I will be traveling with him this Setember to photograph more horses at the Kentucky Derby.
Does anyone have any idea the amount of D2H meter failures that have ocurred just here on FM?

I would guess in the dozens here at FM, and overall probably thousands. Mine failed a few weeks ago, and I started this thread when it happened. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/256190#2290587 Lots to read in that thread. If you have your receipt, Nikon will probably repair at no charge even if it is out of warranty.
Well, considering I am sending in two at the same time I sure hope they wave the possible $700+ service charge. My wife will be sending a very motivating note to get them fixed fast and at no charge. It will include all my research and info taken from FM Forum. We do not have reciepts because one was bought off E-bay and the other from a Nikon employee @cost. Even if I were charged I still got them well below retail I still think they should fix all of the "H's" with the meter problem for free! It looks pretty bad to have such a great camera failing in this way at any cost. I will keep you all informed.
Mine failed last week too. I imagine that there is a 100% failure rate on that particular part based on what I've read. Mine was also one of the last D2H s to be manufactured, and is just shy of 4000 actuations. Not exactly a heavily used or abused piece of gear.
