as there seems to be a lot of interest in this lens,
here are some more shots from it and here is a collection
coded as Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH.

This is a lens I\'ve been quite interested in. I\'m so torn between it\'s size and the f1.2. How do you find it does as far as the amount of viewfinder blockage? people make it out to be a nightmare. Is there a optical difference between the original version of this lens and the lens differentiated by the \"II\"? If anyone knows, I\'ve been trying to figure it out... I read somewhere it has to do with focusing to infinity.

Dierk, nice images! Love the farmyard/barn set.
Just to be clear for everyone here, your Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical images are with the first version? It would appear to be so in the pbase set since they\'re all taken a while ago.

Brody: I have not used either versions of this lens, but based on comments by various users, size is the primary drawback of this lens. I think here you have to settle for this compromise if you don\'t want to spend $5000+ for a 35 Lux ASPH. The difference between the two is that the newer one is slightly smaller but appears to have somewhat \'better\' optical performance - better contrast as well, which was another negative opinion of the original version.

I plan to order one from the Voigtlander Taiwan dealer Nate mentioned above. If there is anyone in the Southern Ontario/GTA area interested in a copy, I could add more to the order. I\'ve been quoted $1300 USD with shipping, but please factor in a roughly 3% credit card foreign exchange premium on top of this (which you\'d also pay buying from the US). Though the import will be duty free, it will be subject to HST (the same as importing from the US). Therefore a realistic end price will be approx. $1280 (at current USD-CAD exchange) +3% credit card foreign exchange premium ($1319 CAD) plus 13% Ontario HST of approx. $171 for a total of roughly $1490.

joakim - I really like the first two images. It looks like a site with some good potential for abstract images.

Dan - looks like a very nice lens.
