Re: Leica M8/M9/X1 Picture Thread

Got my M9 this afternoon. What a camera! Wow. I can focus much faster than I ever did with my dSLR manual focus lenses. Love it. I am waiting on my Summilux 50 (two more weeks) to arrive, in the mean while got myself a ZM 25. ZM 25 has the familiar Zeiss rendition, clean and warm. Like to think ZM 25 rendition is somewhere in between 35/2 ZE and 21/2.8 ZE.

Taking a picture never felt so easy and natural. There is something to be said about the experience, which I can\'t put a finger on yet. On top of that, the camera build is just exquisite.

There are definitely some quirks (close focusing being the biggest issue), and for some reason the camera seemed to suck power (shot about 90-100 shots, the battery indicator went from about 95% to 70%, normal ?), and the lcd screen leaves a lot to be desired.

Never the read-the-manual-first type of person, fiddled around with changing the ISO and somehow settings did not change when they were not \'SET\' ! Gotta go read the manual and also need to figure out how to change those darn bright lines for different focal lengths.

Anyways, less talk and first pictures with the M9, lacking composition, creativity and content.

Thanks to all who helped me decide. You folks know who you are! Very much appreciated.

All ZM 25 (minor adjustments, some images need WB tweaks)
