Re: Manual Focus Nikon Glass

No pics today, just a saga of MFNG. With the lenses and camera bodies my friend Jim had given me I had three redundant MFNG lenses. I had selected for my own use what I thought were the better of each pair, clean optics and smooth aperture and focus ring. They had evaluated three my original F-mount lenses when I bought the Z5ii and I have looked at them carefully quite often. So I believe they are good.

Today I took the others over to the local Hunts. Two of them had visible mold (which I had seen but wasn't sure what I was seeing), some of it unfortunately inside so not cleanable easily, or a full smattering of dust inside. Jim had used them for various activities on Cape Cod so they could have picked up salt spray or any other moisture internally. The guy offered me $10 for one but said they couldn't use the others. I told him to keep them. They were just collecting dust on my shelf but a student might want them or someone could take them apart for cleaning.

I have not posted anything here taken with those, always used the better of each pair.
