Absolutely, through a mix of choice and accident I found myself with a lot of Sony lenses and was adapting them to my Z8 previously
All worked but there was a nagging sense it wasn't quite optimal and with the launch of the A7Rvi it seemed like an opportune moment to switch fully
With hindsight I'd have kept the ZF, 24-120 and the Nikon MF lenses but decided to go all in and switch my travel camera to an A7CR to just have a single system
My other half also uses a Sony (albeit a crop sensor a6700) so having everything aligned to E mount made sense at the time
In terms of the compromises, it's hard to explain. I do a little bit of wildlife, macro and sport and do on an A7r Vi with a sigma 300-600, Sony 70-200 gm ii, 100-400 and 100mm macro - a pretty good gear set but somehow the satisfaction from nailing a shot with a MF lens just outweighs that experience
I rarely do anything with the images afterwards, just highly value that sense of quiet satisfaction and am trying to recreate it
