I have the 16/3.5 but it is really tight to mount even with adapter on the Zf for some reason (it's pre-ai)
and i do mount it I cant change the aperture.

If you know all this already, sorry - this is "just in case". This sounds like what happens when the indexing tab is left in the ai, ais, and af position (down). Non-ai lenses control the aperture ring different from the others. Your adapter may have the same tab on the mount as the FM, F4 etc. You flip it up to mount a non-ai lenses. Some have a little release lock to allow it to swing out of the way. It can damage the camera mount if a non-ai lens is mounted without preparing the body first..
