First, am VERY aware of all the trade-offs if I end up "downgrading". So the question is strictly about the A7Riii EVF, nothing else. Preferrably from anyone who concurrently own[ed] both, but also from current A7Riii owners. I know it's a subjective question because it's hard to quantify.
My issue is the A7Cii EVF sucks (for ME, a personal & subjective opinion) when using manual focus lenses and zooming in for critical focus. When I bought the camera I didn't intend to use it that way, but we all know how that goes, and yeah that's all on me for not taking it into account. For background I had a A7Rii and don't remember getting annoyed with the EVF, but that was 9 years ago. (took a long break) On paper the A7Riii EVF is supposed to be better than the M2; 3686k vs 2359k.
Am guessing some may ask why the A7Riii:
1. Loved RAW files from the A7Rii I had. M3 ➤ same sensor.
2. Don't need/want anything from the newer versions. M4/M5 much better EVFs, but not looking to spend that much, especially since 61MP would be huge overkill for me.
Tell me what you love or hate about the EVF, especially manual focus at max magnification at focal lengths 50mm or longer.
