I’ve never used any cameras from the RX1 family but curious how the lens from the previous generation that is at least 10 years old performs with the higher 61 Mpixel sensor? Does it loose any sharpness? I know Fuji had some concerns about their older lenses, designed for the 26 Mpixel sensor performed with their newest 40 Mpixel APS-C sensor used in the XV100VI and X-T5.

Will that be something that someone can test and compare?

I know Fuji significantly updated their X100 lens between the X100IV and X100V. When they then moved from 26MP to 40MP for the X100VI the updated lens held up.
So hopefully that means that the RX1R lens (from 10+ years ago) was already designed for 60MP or that it will flat now and we'll have to wait for the RX1RIV for things to fall in line again. I don't think Sony can afford a mistake like that. They are already getting enough bad press for this camera as it is.
My Batis 40, similar rendering/style to the 35/2 in the RX1R does do really well on 60MP.

Really? I actually own both the A7CR and A7RV and the Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 CF. I tend to pair the Zeiss Batis 40/2 and 85/2.8 with the A7CR. They are a little larger but also pair the FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G with it. Used my much larger FE 24-70/2.8 GM II and larger lenses like the FE 50/1.2, 85/1.4, and 135/1,8 GM with the RV.
