- no thumbstick

Using the RX1 as I do, held out in front of me looking at the rear screen, a thumbstick wouldn’t be useful or comfortable. There is Sony’s usual wheel with each quadrant a button and a button in the middle, and that falls directly under mu thumb. You press the centre button, then the quadrant buttons to move the AF point, then either the centre button or half-press the shutter. It’s not much slower than the rubber nipples found on so many cameras.

- 1/2000 mechanical shutter with no built in ND filter toggle.

A practical problem sometimes, yes. It’s a perfectly fine trade off if you’re using flash, because this is a leaf shutter. But they removed the built-in flash that was on the original RX1.
