Re: Official: Sony RX1R III Digital Camera announced!
As someone who owned and loved the RX1 and RX1r2, here are some thoughts.
1. Am I the only person that misses the EVF add on for the RX1/r? That thing was amaing tech. Fit into the hotshoe, allowed for a built-in (and HIGHLY functional flash) that would sync up to 1/4000, without HSS? Amazing setup. And the EVF would swivel to 90 degrees to shoot straight looking down.
2. IBIS would have been very, very nice.
3. Price is appropriate for both inflation and tariffs. Have a problem? Call your congressman. Talk about how many cameras are made in the US and why the US isn't the world leader in camera and lens tech.
4. This was never a camera for ergonomics. Compact cameras aren't. And calling this a compact.... it brings up odd conotations. Its a fixed lens camera in the vein of the Contax G2, the Leica Minilux, or even the classic TLR's (without the hip-shooting).
5. The comparison to the Fuji GFX100rf is not siumple as they are very different cameras. Both extremely interesting, but very different. MF with a fixed aperture at 100mp, or FF with a to die for lens and small package.
6. DID SONY LEARN NOTHING ABOUT DUST ON THE SENSOR? THERE SHOULD BE WEATHER SEALING! AND IT SHOULD BE HIGHLY TOUTED!
I am interested to see if this will drive down the prices for a used RX1r with the EVF. What a legendary halo product.
