One of the main selling points of the X-E line for me has been its size. Small and unobstrusive, it still contained the image quality and technical features of its larger siblings.

The X-E5 is now the size of the X100VI (though not as thick). Too bad.

So, sill slighlty smaller than the X100vi overall, right? ;-)

That’ is still a very small camera for one that uses the entire line of interchangeable lenses. Again, not to say that you should upgrade from what you currently use, but (aside from the crazy price) the XE5 is overall a credible incremental advance in the XE line.

The technical stuff isn’t the issue with this camera. The price is.

No doubt the X-E5 is a capable camera - just growing in size away from what made the X-E line interesting.

The XT5 is pretty small, but it is larger than the XE — I cannot deny that.

I was surprised to see only 4oz. between the two on body weight though.

I think 4 oz is a lot (that's 20% of the XT5's weight), but I also think they're trying to position the XE5 as a bit more of a premium product. If it were too light then some people would complain it's not built well. If it's too heavy then they'll complain too.

Most of the weight difference between the XT5 and XE5 is probably attributed to the fact that the XT5 is just a larger camera (larger top plate, larger grip, etc). The extra dials might add some weight too.
