A few Sundays ago, sensing the potential for a vibrant sunset, I made a spontaneous trip to Corona del Mar near Newport Beach, a familiar location I've photographed numerous times. I began shooting from an elevated vantage point, aiming to capture the light illuminating the rock formations to the right as the sun dipped below the horizon. While the initial colors were decent, the scene truly transformed when a small break appeared in the dense cloud cover, revealing stunning sun rays. I quickly repositioned to capture this phenomenon, needing to step back slightly to avoid the direct glare of the sun. Though the sunset's colors didn't reach their full potential, the dramatic rays created a truly special moment. I've included a couple of images from this outing and welcome any comments or critiques.
