Like I said out all day in the rain. Protection is obviously needed. We walked over 40,000 steps that day and then I stopped counting steps on my phone. Then there also is the chance of splashes by passerby-vehicles. bicycles, motorcycles, people, etc.
Keep in mind I dropped my SL3 with Panasonic 28-200 lens on it and it had NO water damage after being dunked 2 times into the CO river with heavy silt on that occasion.
