Another update on alternate lens hoods.
I find the Batis hoods quite silly-looking and what's more, they're quite large, making it harder to travel with a full complement of lenses. And more importantly for me, the big goofy hoods are very noticeable on the street.
So I tried a Haoge square hood and it worked on the Batis 25. Then I bought the same hood and made it work on the Batis 40.
The fit on the 25 was loose, and the fit on the 40 was tight, so each hood needed some slight modification in order to keep it solidly in place.
Each hood has a cap, made of aluminum like the hood, so it's a light package overall that doesn't take up much room.
The lens hoods do enough to keep the sun directly out of the lenses, and don't cause any vignette, even on the 25.
Now, I'd like to find something equally elegant and stealthy.
