I have used a plate from Hejnar Photo for a few years. No problems for me. I also use his plates on 200-800 and 800mm f11. Small machine shop in Illinois that specializes in camera plates,ect. I'm not sure if he ships to Canada, but he does sell on ebay so it might ship from there to Canada.
