I really have no complain about the sharpness of the 200-600 at 600mm. It's my go to airshow lens if I bring only one lens. As I said it before, the main reason I bought the 300 GM is use it with the 2X TC to shoot hummingbirds at MFD in my yard, letting in a bit more light, a bit sharper, and makes a quite a bit large hummingbird in the frame, the 200-600 is not really 600mm at MFD.
