Hi Joshua, resistance is futile.
I just updated to the latest firmware in my A1 and A9 III.
Well, here goes... my first attempt with my A9 III, which is totally new to me.
However having updated my A1 to firmware version 2.01 and now to 2.02 made the A9 III look already pretty familiar nevertheless. Also both firmware updates were from memory card in slot 1.
GIF shot yesterday.
Sony ILCE-9M3 + FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS @ 400 mm, f/5.6, 1/3,200 s, ISO 1000.
This GIF looks more like it.
That's what I would hope to get from birds in flight - that is lots of temporal detail!
K-H.
That is really awesome!
Can I ask a question- Isn’t that just video at this point? Don’t get me wrongs it’s really cool but seems like with that many frames per- it’s just creating slow motion videos vs just shooting video.
Not critiquing your work here, just interested in your thoughts.
Thank you for your question.
I don't know much about video.
I am interested shooting raw images and combining them into animation.
That's it. I think it gives me a lot of flexibility to deal with the raw images.
I also think this technique has the potential for great image quality.
The limiting factor is the final conversion to the GIF format as it only supports 8 bits.
Before the final conversion the animated image sequence looks like high resolution images in Photoshop.
Too bad I can't share those.
K-H.
PS: To illustrate my point. The above animation is an extreme crop from images of this size.
When I shot these images I didn't even notice the interaction of the 2 Hummers in real time.
I only discovered that in post-processing.
