Re: Official: Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art (Sony and Leica mount)

I was hoping the magnification on the Sigma would be significantly better than the 50mm F1.2 GM (0.17x) but its actually slightly worse !#? on the Sigma 50/1.2 (0.16x)

I suppose at least its not as bad as the 50/2i and 55za (0.14x)

The 35GM (0.26x) in apsc mode (50mm, 0.39x) much easier to use for some kinds of shots because the magnification is so much better.

Sony has done an amazing job with magnification on their recent zooms, but the situation on bright primes 50mm and longer has not been good.

  1. 16-35GMii (0.32x)
  2. 20-70G (0.39x)
  3. 24-50G (0.3x)
  4. 24-70mm GM II (0.32x)
  5. 70-200 GMii (0.3x)
  6. 70-200Gii (0.5x)

The 35GM in apsc mode (50mm equiv) is capable of 0.39x and is much easier to use for some kinds of shots as a result than these 50mm primes we have available.
