It was America's Bicentenial and we had "tall ships" (1976)from all over the world passing thru the last span(uncompleted-the middle and highest point) on their way "home"! Then the bridge was completed in 1977.

Lovely shot! That is the Danish sailing ship "Danmark". I lived in Denmark for many years, and saw this lovely ship up close several times, and it is a beauty.
