Lensrentals I seem to remember do not allow any of their equipment to go to the Burning Man event because the chances are the equipment would come back damaged is very likely. They keep your deposit if you do this. The message I take from this is that smoke and ash are things that just do mix with camera gear. Looking at the repair cost I can see why.
