Not sharp at all wide open, and low contrast, but I like the way it renders.
I see what you mean. It is like the softness is warping around the subject in a painterly manner. Very pleasing rendering. I wonder what the Hexanon lens type is. Another variant of double gauss ? I suspect not. It feels very different, especially the way how the bokeh is. More of a Sonnar variant ? I wonder.

Yeah there's a global softness to the images wide open , I imagine it would work well for portraits. I really like the two Konica lenses I currently own.
