Re: Manual Focus Nikon Glass

At one time I had a 135mm Nikkor, but I sold it to help fund my D70 when they first came out. I haven't had one since. However, I've seen so many wonderful photos posted here lately taken with several different versions of the 135, so I though I'd search one out. Being the cheapskate that I am, I decided to take my time and search for a good deal. I stumbled across a Nikkor-Q.C 135/2.8 for sale and, according to the seller, the only thing wrong with it was that the built-in lens shade was very badly bent. I made them an offer of $14 and they accepted, so I proceeded to work the lens shade back into shape. After a few minutes with a plastic mallet and a PVC pipe, the lens shade is now mostly round. It's not perfect, but it's close and it works just fine.

I took the lens out today to see if I got my money's worth. All in all, I'm very happy with it.

All photos taken with Nikon Zfc, Lens Turbo II, Nikkor-Q.C 135/2.8 at 2.8.

Walking the fence line. This was taken from a pretty good distance and heavily cropped because, as I'm sure you know, you don't get too close to a Sasquach.
