Beyond numbers sold of a camera model, there are other strong signals in the sales data. More Lenses are sold than Cameras. The 2022 Nikon document reports the Lens:Camera sales ratio range from 1.61 for 2021 to 1.81 for 2022 and dropped slightly to 1.65 for 2023.
The latest 2023 Financials report Nikon aims to have 50+ Z mount lenses on sale by 2025 with a 2 to 1 Tie Ratio. The Imaging Business has become its highest earning sector and this sector receives its highest R&D budget
