Re: Nikon unveils the highly anticipated Z8 camera!

We Nikonians are likely benefiting from the R&D invested by Nikon for some years prior to 2018 to build the Z System. Their strategy to launch 40-50 lenses by 2025 required careful planning, alongside big commitments supporting teams of expert engineers. They obviously learned a lot from the R&D invested into the Nikon 1 system, when Nikon introduced several leading features in 2011.

With all the earlier Nikon glass besides 90+ AFS F mount lenses, the Z Mount has proved a wise strategic decision to buy into, even prior to the Z9 and now the Z8.

During the pandemic, with parts shortages and quarantines etc, certain notorious youtube channels, and websites (such as petapixel) fed the internet rumor grapevine with rubbish. This was the conspiracy of a struggling Nikon about to close its imaging business, because the company had written off assets etc, and wound down consumer camera production (its Entry-Level DSLRs and Point-and-Shoots). These reports ignored the obvious Nikon was cranking up production of the carefully planned Z System.
