Lenses don't have IBIS. Image sensor based image stabilization = that's in camera bodies only.
Ahh, now I see the meaning of the acronym.
The Nikon technician did not use the acronym IBIS. He said "electronic stabilization" or "electronic VR" (so apparently this is the same as IBIS. Apparently this is IBIS.

IBIS = In body image stabilization (Body)
VR - Vibration Reduction (Lenses)
there is also digital stabilization that usually requires a crop of the image to stabilize the image via software.
Newer bodies + newer lenses work in unison .. synchronized
