Re: Nikon unveils the highly anticipated Z8 camera!

I talked with a Nikon technician at length. He did considerable searching for me and sent a couple of links. I do not think these links were very informative (current) though.

We concluded that there is probably no single comprehensive document online that explains all the current technology on VR.

Yes, some Z cameras do have electronic VR and you already know that the Z8/Z9 both do.

However, *apparently* this electronic VR does not work with an F mount lens that requires the FTZ adapter (see image below).

I accept this. And I now look forward to the Z lens of my choice that has IBIS (but specifically, what is IBIS?). Ok, lukemeup clarified that below. So for maximum stabilization (5 stops?) we need IBIS (that is in the camera) and a lens that synchs with it..... correct ?

We are still assuming a lot while Nikon has still not provided the information so we can know for certain. That is what irks me. If I am wrong on any of. this I will retract and admit my mistake?

So often......Ricci, Matt Irwin, Steve Perry. Jan (spelling?) and the like do a better job of explaining what we need to know....than NUSA does.

Did you know that the Z8 Reference Manual is more detailed than the Z8 User's Manual.? I didn't.

In the Z8 Reference Manual I found this

I do not mind this and I now look forward to the Z lens of my choice that has IBIS (but specifically, what is IBIS?). We are still assuming a lot but Nikon knowingly has not provided the information so we can know for certain. That is what irks me.
