I wrote this before Geoff's above and posted it not knowing he had posted a response too.

Here, I refer to the latest Steve Perry Z8 YT film posted above.

@ 7:00 he posted a picture comparing the Z9, Z8 and A1 battery lives. This simplifies the battery question.

@ 7:43 he suggests shutting the camera off to save battery. I already do this frequently during my nature outings. However, with my D850 I use the added battery grip with the larger battery that enables 9fps.

@ 11:00: He says that the Z8 is "the best bang for the buck wildlife and nature camera that you can buy right now". To be fair, everyone will have their own opinion on this. And it is going to take a lot of time for all Z8 shooters to form their own opinions of this new camera.

I still have questions about Z8 video.
