I feel like this is a very compelling release for Nikon. This is actually the perfects size for me to use with telephoto lenses, but I know that ergonomics are highly subjective.
I think that this finally brings Nikon a lot closer to parity with Sony in body options. There was a big hole between the fast performing z9 large brick of a camera and the much smaller, more mainstream but slower Z7 II that couldn't compete too well with cameras like the a7IV, a7r IV and a7r V when it came to AF operations.
I feel like most people were priced out of the Z9 and/or didn't want to large and heavy camera for general purpose use (myself included.) If the online enthusiast community is any indication of the desires of the camera market, this body will sell like hotcakes and pressures Sony to reduce the price of the a1 series.
