Re: Official: Sony A7R V announced (pre-orders now available)

I'm using Lexar 160GB, definitely left a dent in my wallet. I got 2 during the $272 each deal (something like that) and before that I had gotten a pair for $630. (Which is pretty darn close to your $300 a pop number.) The cards I was using for my a7R III were a mix of the fastest type for the one slot (64 GB Tough G) and the fastest type for the slower slot (64 GB Tough M)...all were quite a few years old. I priced fast SD cards and just decided to make the jump. I imagine fast SD cards will work extremely well and I'm not sure you'll see much practical difference. (Unless you are shooting certain video, which I don't do) or you are going crazy with shooting tons of shots at the fastest capture rate.

I think it's definitely a big stop up from the a7R III and I'll be surprised if you aren't pleased with it.

It feels like a pretty big jump coming from the a7R III. Pretty much everything has improvements, but the a7R IV was a jump from the III as well.
The grip feels deeper than the a7R III, which feels nice, although I know it poses some problems for Rich with his Cambo Actus. But it still seems to fit well in my bags, feels good in my hand especially with some of the my larger lenses.

I'm switching from the A7RIII to the A7RV too and can't wait until it's delivered next week. I wasn't initially impressed by the announcement but then realized it's a significant camera upgrade for me (coming from the rIII ).

You mentioned the CFexpress card, which model are you using ?
I have a SF-G 128GB Touch series (SDXC) and will need another card. Not sure if I get another SDXC or a CFexpress to enjoy the full speed when I shoot in continuous. But ~$300 for 160GB is steep
