And here's some snaps from another beautiful and historic SE Alaska town: Sitka. It was the location of the ceremonial handover of Alaska from Russia to the USA in 1867, and today, with a population of 8,500 it comes in as the fifth-most populous city in the state.

The mountain in the background of the second shot is Mt. Edgecumbe, a "historically active" stratovolcano (according to Wikipedia).
