Hi Rich, based on your recent posts you were in Italy last month... I haven't been on the board much the last month or so and just noticed.
Wondering how it went and if you'd care to share your experiences about what did and didn't work? If you've already posted this somewhere, please LMK.
I've spent a lot of time in Italy (Venice, Florence, Siena, Dolomites) since we used to live in Austria (many many years ago, Venice was a 3-4 hour drive away) and were recently marooned in Vienna during the lockdowns (2020 but we were also there in 2016 & again in 2017) and then spent time in Venice and the Dolomites again.
I've just checked my files (before I realised this was an old thread) and my most used FLs (by far) were 17mm T/S + 21/35/85 and the 100-400 was just great for picking out otherwise unreachable scenes & details (both in the mountains and along canals or across the sea).
If I was forced to choose just 3 lenses (not those I have) then it would a 24 adapted Canon T/S and the Tamron 35-135mm plus either a fast 50mm or 85mm depending on who you're traveling with.
