These look like the same type of shots people in the Sony circles of this site and social media claim the Z9 can't do. Excellent shots.
First, those are shot on Sony, not the Z9. They demonstrate why the Sony guys have been so enthusiastic the last few years that Sony cameras with stacked sensors have been available. Fast, silent, shutterless shooting.
None of the non stacked sensor Nikon or Sony mirrorless cameras could consistently produce these results with these subjects and conditions.
Now that Nikon does have a high performance stacked sensor mirrorless camera in it's lineup I expect we will see similar images coming from the Z9. I have not seen postings by Sony users or anyone for that matter saying that the Z9 can't shoot at this level.
The amazing thing....looking back at it all now....is that in April 2017 Sony put out a camera that could do all of that. In a lot of ways the A9 can still hang with the A1 for fast, erratic BIF. Which means it can still hang with the R3 and Z9. I certainly favoured my A9II over my R5 when I shot them side by side for 6 months.
Of course the newer cameras have lots of other neat features that the A9 doesn't have. The A9 certainly feels dated in a lot of ways (processor, ergonomics, card slots, lack of BEAF etc) BUT when it comes to shooting fast, erratic BIF like swallows in Wide AF (non-tracking) it will hold its own with the best cameras in 2022.
