I don’t know why any bird photographer wouldn’t be interested in an 800mm f/6.3. It’s a great focal length, and it’s going to be very light for its focal length. I about shoot at 700mm f/6.3 quite a bit. Adding 100mm, decreasing weight, and improving AF speed by removing a teleconverter would be a dream.
