Obviously you are not missing anything portrait wise with the Sigma. Your work proves that.
That being said, I think the 34mm f/1.4 GM may be the finest lens in my bag. Quickly become my go to lens for many uses. Except for some focus breathing (don't shoot much video anyway), it is hard to find any fault with the lens.
Like you, this one has me lusting after the 50mm f/1.2 GM......
The 35 seems to add just a bit of extra life to images somehow.
