I just got my R5 back from CPS. I have been plagued by freeze up issues for the past 2 months. They replaced the circuit bird and it did not solve my freezing issue. Within 10 minutes of receiving the "repaired" camera it froze. So frustrating. Happens with full battery and low battery, ProGrade and Sandisk 516 GB cards, eye detect, mechanical shutter, electronic shutter, RF lens and EF lens, rainy weather/sunny weather. Absolutely random occurence.
When camera freezes, toggling the on/off switch does not turn camera off. I have to remove the battery every time. I have missed a few really good shots because of this.
I am now at the stage that if I have an important shoot (nephew's wedding) I take the 1 DX3.
I am ready to toss this camera into the bin.
