Re: New Z9 Specs (NR) Aug 10th, 2021

** Nikon have 20+ Z mount in the wild in 《3 years plus 7 Mirrorless cameras. The Z System summaries rate them all as Recommended, excellent, Solid investments, Nikon doing f1.8 primes is equally sensible. Most photographers cling to the dogma you have to shut down a f1.2 or f1.4 prime for decent IQ at f1.8 Today's f1.8S Nikkors deliver edge to edge sharpness. The f4 Zooms are highly Recommended, notably the light 14-30 f4S using 82mm filters. So there're Big distinctions in these f1.8S primes, which many have overlooked....

** Nikon's 3 dragons aka f2.8S Trinity extend the leading industry status of the F mount versions, and look no further than the 70-200 f2.8S. Surprisingly, this beats the E FL model, which works very well on Z cameras thanks to the FTZ adapter. The14-24 f2.8S is the best landscape lens ever made, and it outperforms many of the primes;

** the quality of the new pair of Z-TCs outperform the F mount versions, tested on the 70-200 S

** to cite above post by bs_kite.... Brad Hill concluded what many have experienced in practice. The FTZ works reliably with G and E Nikkors... with over 77 options available. Including about a dozen AFS telephotos. There are of course many 3rd party F-mount lenses. Nothing more to add...

** Steve underscores the overlooked fact the Z7 cameras are excellent for all subjects, stationary and slower moving eg trains, bridal couples dancing, dogs, cats etc etc...

** Nikon will have launched 30 Z Nikkors by mid 2022 , ie probably within 9 to 10 months. These will include four S telephotos.

** oh while i remember to add.... the flagship Z9 will be shipping by xmas to those first in line.... an extending line
