I searched the thread didn't find anyone mentioning this comparison between the Sony GM and Canon RF 50mm f1.2 lenses. This one is interesting for its side by side comparison shots:
He thinks for all that practically matters, the two lenses are nearly identical in performance. Auto focus on the Sony is quieter and faster. He feels the Sony is more comfortable to use because its narrows down near its base leaving more space between the lens and the hand grip. On the Canon, this space is tighter since the lens is quite fatter at its base.
It seems to me the Sony is a bit wider than 50mm (compared to both Canon 50mm rf and Sony 50mm Planar). For me, the weight difference is the reason to prefer the Sony lens.
