Gerald is doing a live stream right now with both the R5 and R6. He's outputting the live view, but not recording internally. started at 4K30 HQ. The R6 is holding up generally well. The R5 shut down after 41 minutes of use, without recording.
Switching to 4K30 standard and it's back up without issue. He made the point that Canon should not have marketed this as an 8K camera..."it's not an 8K camera...it can shoot for a few minutes if it's cold, but that's it." Also not good for any heavy shooting at 4K60 or 4K HQ...but for 'EOS R level 4K without a crop' which is the standard 4K, it should work well for hybrid shooters, but that should be the expectation for video / hybrid shooting.
Edit: Gerald kept streaming with the R5 in its lower 4K standard mode (which it appears it can do more or less forever), for about 40 minutes...went to switch back to HQ mode and it immediately shut off. He states that the only way to go back to high quality mode is to shut it completely off for significant periods of time, so you can't keep the camera on in HQ and just shoot short clips...once it overheats, it has to completely cool while off before the higher quality modes are usable again. But standard mode is good to go.

Also, the R6 is now about to shut down, after about 1 hour 40 minutes or so.
