Rendering seems to be closer to the 40mm 1.2 than the newer 50mm 1.2, I was hoping it to be closer to the 50mm. Might have been too optimistic.

Should also be getting a review sample soon, maybe this week even.


Some of it is the bright afternoon sun, some of it is my processing but this new 35 1.2 has distinctly harsher transitions but softer Bokeh than the CV 35 1.7 or Pentax 31. I would guess it’s transitions are harsher than the CV 40 or especially 50 1.2 I owned.

Same photo, RAW export with zero editing, just LR defaults. Still busy (to me) but less so. I have mine up for sale on the b/s forum, though I never intended to keep mine.
