Not only would Canon already have some R5 bodies already produced, but it's doubtful they would need as many bodies for the initial release.

Months ago, lots of people said they want one and would buy one. But after the reduced income last month and this month, I'd guess that maybe 30% will buy one right away, compared to how many previously anticipated they would.

So delayed or limited production is a fair match for delayed purchases.

I have the money for one right now, but the body isn't an emergency. I may opt to spend some of the camera fund on landscape trees, and buy an R5 next autumn, winter or spring.
