This is among my most memorable experience with wildlife. I had seen a carcass in with some ravens around it. Expecting to see more, I had parked the car at a pull out some 500 yds from it and walked. Before I left the car, I had made sure there was nothing around me, the grizzly or the bison were me concerns. Not a peep. The walk over and inspection was a matter of 10 minutes. Just as I was preparing to come back to the car, this Armageddon appeared :-( I had not idea what to do. I could climb on the hills or stay in the ditch on either side of the road. I chose the latter. Fortunately the bison did not feel threatened, and slowly walked past. Phew!
