Great composition but something wrong with the tonal range of this one. No true near whites or blacks.
Is the histogram expanded fully?




That is probably true. I pulled back on the whites because the back of the right adult Egret reached about a white level in a darkened room room. That way I could hold the detail in the whites in the whole image. If I didn't do that in the lighting conditions as viewed on my un-calibrated Laptop screen I started to lose detail in the whites on the back of the mentioned Egret. I had originally processed so that the back was totally was white and it looked a bit hot. Also I opened up the blacks a bit.
