I think this lens mainly makes sense if you want to improve IQ below 21mm, where it really stands apart and outperforms everything else with the possible exception of the Sigma 14/1.8. It competes very well with other options between 21 and 24mm as well, and can replace even Loxias and CVs in that range in terms of sharpness/contrast. I only shoot landscape (and astro), so for me the combination of this zoom with the compact Loxia 21 is pretty much perfect.
