Some mandatory zoo shots from this morning. What's better than a male lion's head to show off this lens and the 42MP from the A7RIII?. The Animal Eye AF could pick out the lion's eyes most of the time.
IMHO, sharpness of the 200-600 is the least concern when one is thinking whether to get this lens.

I'll need to hit you up for the how-to on eye AF for my trip, assuming it might recognize a bear's eye, but if it recognizes lion eyes then shouldn't it on bears?

Thank you Robert. If I were you, I would use the A7RIII for bears rather than the A9, just for the resolution. I don't think A9 type of AF and FPS are needed for bears.
